Commencé le 25 octobre 1685 il sera terminé le 13 juin
1689. Il se développe sur cinq arches en plein cintre de 23m de large pour la centrale de
22m60 pour les deux suivantes 20,50m pour les dernières, il est long de 128m et large de
17m.
Sous la révolution de royal il deviendra national et le restera jusqu'en 1804 il
redeviendra pont des Tuileries sous l'Empire et à nouveau royal pour revirer vers le
national en 1848. Il est restauré et consolidé entre 1839 et 1844 surveillé et
entretenu entre 1989 et 1997

The
Pont Royal, along with the Pont Neuf and The Pont Marie is one of the three most ancient
bridges of Paris classified as historical monuments of Paris. Started on the 25th
of October 1685 it was to be finished on the 13th June 1689. It developed on
five arches in full curves of 23 meters wide for the central curve, 22,60 meters for the
two following and of 20,50 meters for the final ones. It measures 128 meters in length and
17 meters in width.
Under the revolution it was to become national and stayed that way until 1804. It would
again become Pont de Tuileries under the empire and again Royal so
as to return towards the nationals in 1848. It was restored and consolidated between 1839
and 1844 looked after and taken care of between 1989 and 1997 |
